Things to do in Whitby. Whitby is a bustling little town built on the fishing industry, located on the North East coast in North Yorkshire. There is always something to do in Whitby whatever your interests may be. Whitby has it all: history, culture, breathtaking scenery and world class fish and chips! You get it all when you stay in Whitby! You can enjoy the seaside, the moors and the town centre. Whitby boasts stunning views from any spot and has an impressive selection of shops, bars, restaurants and local attractions. Also, should you enjoy walking, Whitby has some excellent routes for avid walkers from country strolls to cliff top hikes! Whitby has regular bus services to popular locations such as Goathland, where the infamous 'Heartbeat' is (or was) filmed and small picturesque villages such as Robin Hood's Bay and Grosmont. If you fancy taking in some local Whitby history then we have Pannet Park Museum and of course the Captain Cook Museum, both of which are popular attractions to people visiting Whitby. Although if you want something a bit different there is always the Esk Belle 2 for a trip out whale watching or the Dracula Experience to send shivers down your spine! Although Whitby is famous for it's World class fish and chips, you can enjoy some excellent food from some of our award winning restaurants such as the Moon and Sixpence, and an after dinner cocktail at the Marine Hotel. Our favourite Indian restaurant in town the Passage To India is an absolute must too, make sure you try it while you are here.
